The Safe Isolation Assessment Rig

A Safe Isolation Assessment Rig is a dedicated training platform that allows learners to practise and demonstrate safe isolation procedures exactly as required in real‑world electrical environments. It replicates a live installation in a controlled, low‑risk format, enabling trainees to carry out every step of the safe isolation sequence with accuracy, confidence and repeatability.

The rig typically includes a distribution board, isolators, lock‑off points, warning tags, test points, and realistic circuit behaviour. Trainees perform the full workflow: proving the tester, identifying the correct point of isolation, locking off, verifying dead, and confirming safe working conditions. Integrated assessment features allow instructors to observe technique, verify compliance, and introduce controlled scenarios such as incorrect isolation points or unexpected energisation paths.

This rig has been designed to cover Safe Isolation for both City and Guilds and EAL qualifications.
